Enea Qosmos Threat Detection SDK Recognized by Two Awards for Innovative Excellence in NDR
Enea has been named a Hot Company in Embedded Security by Cyber Defense Magazine in the 2024 Global Infosec Awards and is also the winner of a 2024 Cybersecurity Excellence Award.
Both accolades recognize the Enea Qosmos Threat Detection SDK (TD SDK) for its innovative approach to intrusion detection (IDS) and its capacity to combine threat detection capabilities with deep packet inspection in order to raise the accuracy and performance of cybersecurity solutions, and in particular NDR (network detection & response).
Enea Qosmos TD SDK is unique in delivering threat detection as a software component. It can be used to integrate or improve network detection and response (NDR) capabilities within a very diverse range of solutions, including critical networks security, network performance monitoring, observability, SIEM/SOAR, cloud firewalls, SASE and SD-WAN.
Built on core IDS capabilities from Suricata, it combines with Enea’s deep packet inspection (DPI) engine, Qosmos ixEngine, to provide high performance threat detection based on the industry’s broadest and most accurate application recognition. This makes it particularly adept at identifying complex, evasive, and encrypted traffic patterns while reducing false positives and negatives.
The combination of the Qosmos TD SDK and the Qosmos ixEngine also eliminates double packet processing between IDS and DPI, streamlining operations and enabling developers to achieve a two-fold improvement in performance and scaling – key factors for efficiently handling the demands of contemporary cloud environments.
“The diversity in use cases we’re seeing for TD SDK underscores the extent to which threat detection and response capabilities have become a must-have for all types of cybersecurity solutions today, and even for software whose primary purpose is not cybersecurity.”
