ConfD SNMP Agent

The ConfD SNMP Agent is one of several interfaces available in an integrated framework and offers a fully featured SNMP agent providing a northbound SNMP v1, v2c, and v3 interface for element management and monitoring. This integrated SNMP Agent enables developers to avoid the tedious authoring of separate sets of instrumentation code to expose SNMP configuration and operational data. Developers can start with their existing SNMP MIB, an XML specification or both.

The XML-centric management backplane in ConfD implements the operations of all management interfaces and works with a single AAA subsystem and data model to reduce development costs and accelerate time to market. The ConfD SNMP Agent includes critical security features in v3 such as USM and VACM, and the MIB compiler supports SMIv1 and SMIv2. The tabs below offer greater detail into the ConfD SNMP Agent and management interface.
